Surabhi Ensemble

Surabhi Ensemble Chicago

An exciting artistic eclectic mix of sounds and movement, Surabhi Ensemble - a Chicago-based world music group has been performing to cross-cultural audiences across the Midwest and USA for over a decade. The concept and ensemble was founded by Veena artiste Saraswathi Ranganathan - with the mission of bringing together people to celebrate diverse global cultures, musical genres, race, religion, and color! Surabhi Ensemble has been delighting audiences with lush rustic soundscapes of flamenco music, mellifluous Middle Eastern Maqams, African rhythms woven into the rich sounds of Indian Classical ragas, embellished with blues and folk melodies. Performances often include both music and dance from the Indian, African, Middle Eastern and Spanish flamenco traditions. Sounds like a heady impossible mix? Watch our video!
